St Agnes' has a rich worshipping tradition which offers a variety of services and styles to allow people to discover new ways of worshipping God.
Worship is the primary purpose of the Church. In our worship we join with the whole Church of Christ, living and departed, with angels, archangels and with the whole company of heaven.
Centred on the Eucharist ...
Worship is central to the life of every Christian and especially to the life of our parish. At St Agnes' worship is in the modern catholic style and is centred on the Sunday Parish Eucharist celebrated at 10.30am. Find out more about the Parish Eucharist here.
Diversity and tradition ...
The Church of England services in Common Worship form the basis of our worship (Eucharist Order One) and we draw from other traditions at times during the year to celebrate the diversity of our local community and reflect the rich liturgical heritage of the Church. The Book of Common Prayer is used at said celebrations of the Eucharist on Christmas Day and Easter Sunday, together with Sunday Evensong occasionally during the year and Holy Communion on the feast days of the Apostles and Evangelists.
Other services ...
As well as the Sunday and Wednesday Eucharists other services are held regularly. Evening Prayer is said every day (except Friday) at 5.00 pm. Benediction, Healing Services and informal services are held occasionally - full details can be found on our Diary page.
