Holy Baptism

At St Agnes' we welcome anyone for Christian
baptism
whether as an adult or parents wishing to
bring their child. After a short preparation the service
is arranged to suit you and your family.

Your baby's Christening
Holy Baptism, or Christening as it is also known, is the
act of worship and commitment by which babies and
adults become Christian. This celebration of initiation
into the Christian faith is a joyful celebration of God's
saving power and his amazing love for us. It is through
this love and through the love of his Son Jesus Christ
that we are made his children through Baptism.

The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated during the

Sunday
Parish Eucharist. If you would like to be
baptised or bring your child for baptism please read
the information on the
leaflet and contact the parish
priest  to make an appointment.

Godparents
Find out more about the role of a Godparent on this
page or you can use the link on the right to download
the leaflet.

The Baptism of Adults
Adult baptism is usually combined with the Sacrament
of
Confirmation and the preparation process will be
significantly different. Adult baptism is the result of a
journey - a journey which begins with our search for
God and does not end with baptism but continues
throughout our life. If you are seeking adult baptism
please contact the
parish priest.
