I am a cradle Christian, although my father was raised Southern Baptist and my mother
United Methodist. This created for me an innate need for ecumenical dialogue. I felt
called at a young age to serve the church and by my teens had a life goal of being a
missionary to Russia – despite the fact that at the time it was still the Soviet Union. I
read religion and Russian studies at university and my first post following graduation
was to the newly established Russia as a Methodist Innovative Short Term Missionary.

I have lived in more than fourteen cities, seven US states, and three countries. I hold
dual British – American citizenship but still consider myself a "nomad‟. At Westcott
House, Cambridge, where I have studied for the past three academic years, I spent a
period working in the chaplaincy at Belmarsh Prison and as a result discovered an
interest in how God works through the environments in which we live, work and worship.

In the past year, I have been completing a Masters degree in Interreligious Dialogue. I
recognize in Longsight an opportunity for this particular course of study to be of use to
the congregation and parish in which we serve.
